The Slow Line & The Falling Line (2010-present)

Hope has an ongoing improvisational practice with painter Tracy Taylor Grubbs.  In The Slow Line, Hope and Tracy unfurl a long roll of paper the length of a city block in San Francisco’s financial district.  Graphite in hand, the two take an hour to roll towards each other, mark-making in response to a shifting environment. Their slowly rolling, vulnerable bodies offer a different relationship to time than that of the task-oriented commuters and construction crews. The Falling Line is a new ensemble practice that performs falling in public; more details coming.
