The Bridge Project
Bringing Notable Choreographers to the Bay Area

In keeping with HMD's mission to not only create, but also to foster outstanding dance, HMD's Bridge Project brings notable choreographers to the Bay Area to enrich the cultural landscape. Carving out a niche as both a curatorial and creative force, HMD hosts the Bridge Project artist as part of the company's annual spring season.

2012 Featured Artist

Dusan Tynek Dance Theatre
"an undoubted talent...ingenious, surprising movement invention" -N.Y. Times

"Dusan Tynek has a gift for creating improbable movement and formal, architectural structure. He is also musically acute and interested in choreographing to music, which makes him something of an anomaly in contemporary dance circles." -The New York Times

Dusan Tynek Dance Theatre has been enthusiastically recognized at home in New York (named one of the Top 5 Dance Performances of the Year by The New York Times) and on tour throughout the U.S., Europe, and Russia. Known for its striking blend of theatricality, musicality and humanism in formally structured modern dance, Tynek has held critically acclaimed seasons at leading dance venues in New York.
